At Inkd SMP, we pride ourselves on setting the highest standards for training in the SMP industry.

The Inkd SMP Academy hosts hands on training monthly across Australia, New Zealand and Canada, as well as mentors artists online across the world including USA, UK, South America and more! When you train with us you’ll join our international community and support network!

Inkd SMP’s Director and lead trainer AJ is one of few accredited PMU trainers in Australia – she holds a Cert IV TAE Trainer and Assessor certification, officially qualifying her to design, teach and deliver nationally recognised training programs. She has designed Inkd SMP’s training course to be well structured, in depth and on par with a credited program.

AJ is an internationally respected artist and the go-to mentor and advanced trainer for experienced SMP artists looking to LEVEL UP their knowledge, businesses and results. ​

Jackson Cross – Scalp Revival SMP​

Jackson Cross is the director and SMP practitioner at Scalp Revival SMP. Jackson found his passion for Scalp Micro-pigmentation through the tattoo industry. It was his love for both tattooing and barbering that ignited his career as a Scalp Micro-pigmentation artist.

Scalp Revival SMP is the longest-serving Scalp Micro-pigmentation clinic in Illawarra. We are perfectly situated in a private studio located in Corrimal, ten minutes north of Wollongong CBD and one hour south of Sydney. Jackson prides himself on continuing to learn, always keeping up to date with new industry-leading equipment and innovative techniques.

It was Jackson’s drive, determination and passion for perfect results that led him to be nominated for Australia’s best Scalp Micro-pigmentation for 2021 and 2022! Scalp Revival realises no two treatments should be the same, being able to listen to a client and bring their vision to life is exactly why we would consider a Scalp Revival SMP treatment to be unique.

What you’ll Learn ​

Our mission is ensure every student leaves our training course confident, competent and excited to start performing SMP treatments straight away! We follow a structured course curriculum with both online pre study and in person hands on components.

Our course covers skills and advanced techniques that our team use daily to get natural, realistic results for every client. We’ll go over everything from the technique and essential theory, to background knowledge of the skin and anatomy. We see dozens of SMP repair jobs yearly and teach you not only what to do, but what NOT to do.

No experience necessary – we teach you correct methods from scratch!

Upon completion you’ll be certified by Inkd SMP X Scalp Revival and receive ongoing mentoring by our team of trainers and access to our exclusive community of artists world wide. Potential Earnings as an SMP Artist ​

This is one of the very few educational investments that has the potential to cover it’s cost back very fast – within the first few clients!

The average Scalp Micropigmentation treatments will run from $1500- + or $200+ per hour, however pricing is up to the artist!

Intensive 4 Days Hands on Training

​Times:  9am-430pm daily. ​​​

​Small group training with a focus on building your hands on skills and correct techniques – Learn how to get world class SMP results from the very start. Two highly experienced trainers to assist you and ensure you get essential one-on-one time.

One of the most important skills to master as an SMP artist is how to manoeuvre through different skin types. During training you’ll work on multiple live models with varying skin types and hair loss levels to give you a variety of hands on experience. The models’ first sessions are completed by students, their following sessions are done by an Inkd SMP artist, which you may shadow us to observe the result or receive feedback and photos of their healed results. ​

Models: All models are provided. Photo and video content for your portfolio will be taken during the sessions!

If you have a friend or family member who’s keen to receive a treatment, you’re more than welcome to bring them along as your model – please advise us beforehand.

Course Overview 

Day 1: Overview of theory, equipment, practice machine control, insertion depths, spacing.

– Hairline styles, measurement and symmetry, practice drawing and execution, colour matching and ink mixing. Practice on various mediums.

Day 2: Live client demonstration by AJ & Jackson.

– Shadowing and 2 live demonstrations.
– Hand control tasks, practice on various mediums.

Day 3: Guided student density models first sessions start to finish.

– Students work on live density models

Day 4: Guided student shaved head models – course completion

– Students work on live bald models.
– Additional help and feedback.
